You have received a deposit request from 24Rent customer service. This means that you have made a reservation for a vehicle in our service, but to minimize risks, a deposit has been set for you.

Deposit in Shared Car Service and Car Rentals
A deposit is a common practice in shared car services and car rentals. Its purpose is to ensure customer responsibility and protect the service provider from potential financial losses. The right to impose a deposit is outlined in the rental terms you accepted during your purchase (see section 3b). Please review the rental terms again here: https://www.24rent.fi/en/rental-terms/
The deposit amount is determined based on an assessed risk and must be paid before you can access the car. The necessity and amount of the deposit are reassessed for each reservation.
Examples of why a deposit may be imposed:
A new customer unknown to 24Rent
Last-minute reservations
Taking the car outside the country during the reservation
Incomplete, contradictory, or unclear personal information
Suspicion of misuse of personal data or payment methods
To ensure payment capability in case of damage
Previous failed reservations with the provided information
Unpaid or overdue receivables from earlier bookings
What Should I Do Now?
You should either pay the deposit or cancel your car reservation. Please note that your reservation cannot be transferred to another person’s name.
What Happens After Deposit Payment?
If you decide to pay the deposit, your vehicle reservation becomes valid and you can proceed as planned. After your reservation, the deposit will be returned to your payment method within 14 working days at the latest, provided that no damages or additional costs related to your booking have occurred.
What Happens If I Do Not Wish to Pay the Deposit?
If you do not wish to pay the deposit, you may cancel your reservation free of charge before it begins. In that case, we will refund your booking fee in full to your payment method.
What If I Neither Cancel the Reservation Nor Pay the Deposit?
Please note that if you neither pay the deposit nor cancel your reservation, we reserve the right to retain your original booking fee in accordance with our rental terms.
We do not handle deposit issues or their justification over the phone.
