If you don’t have a Finnish ID, bank credentials, or driver’s licence, we can’t verify your identity through national systems. SafeDrive replaces that process and ensures you receive the same secure, supported experience as local customers.
Is SafeDrive Package insurance?
No, it’s not an insurance product. It’s a service package that ensures identification, support, and safe use of the car for international customers. Your car still includes the same insurance coverage as all 24Rent vehicles.
How much SafeDrive Package cost?
SafeDrive Package costs €750, which includes a fixed €100 service fee and a refundable amount of up to €650, returned after your trip if everything goes smoothly.
When and how I get my refund
Once your rental period has ended and the car has been checked, your refund will be processed automatically. The refundable part of the SafeDrive Package (up to €650) is returned if the car is on time, undamaged, and in the same general condition as when your rental began. You don’t need to wash the car, but please remove any loose trash and personal items before returning it.
After the refund is initiated, you’ll receive an email confirmation. Please note that international refunds may take several banking days and, in some cases, up to 14 days to appear in your account, as transfer times can vary between countries and banks.
Can I rent a 24Rent car without SafeDrive?
No, SafeDrive is required for all customers whose permanent residence is outside Finland. It’s the only way we can safely and legally confirm your identity for car access.
What happens if my trip doesn’t go as planned?
If the car is returned late, dirty, damaged, or with unpaid extras, we’ll deduct the related costs from the refundable amount. All deductions are made according to the 24Rent Rental Terms and are fully transparent.
