Reservation cancellation
Cancelling a reservation is sometimes a necessary action when, for example, schedules don’t go as planned. On this page, you will find more information about how to cancel a reservation and how long it takes for the reservation fee to be refunded.
How can a reservation be canceled?
You can cancel your 24Rent shared car reservation without any charges up to 7 days before the start of the booking. In this case, you will receive a full refund of the reservation fee you paid. Detailed cancellation terms can be found in the rental terms.
You can cancel your reservation through the m.24rent.fi-service portal, by text message, or by contacting our customer service by phone.
How is the reservation fee refunded, and how long does it take?
We will refund the booking fee in full directly to your payment method if you cancel your 24Rent reservation at least 7 days before the start of the booking. The refunded amount will appear on your payment method within 1–4 banking days. Please note that the payee will be listed as our payment service, Paytrail Oyj.
If for some reason the automatic refund to your payment method does not succeed, you will receive a bank account inquiry by email from our Paytrail service. By responding to this inquiry, you facilitate the refund process. Unfortunately, we cannot handle this matter on your behalf.
24Rent reservation with cancellation coverage
If you have purchased cancellation coverage as an optional additional service for your 24Rent reservation, we will refund the full car reservation fee to your payment method, provided you cancel your reservation at least two hours (2h) before the start of the booking. The refund does not include the price of the cancellation coverage. Please note that reservations cannot be canceled via email.
24Leasing reservation cancellation
The reservation fee you paid with 24Leasing will be refunded to your payment method within four (4) banking days, provided the cancellation is made at least 14 days before the start of the contract period. The first month’s rent will be deducted from the refunded rental price. Detailed cancellation terms can be found in the rental terms, under section 9 b.
